A private yacht New Year's Eve is the most exclusive way to welcome the new year in Istanbul – but because every detail is yours to decide, a little planning goes a long way. Use this checklist to organise a perfect night on the Bosphorus.
1. Book as early as possible
A yacht can host only one group on 31 December. Interest in New Year's Eve in Istanbul rises sharply from November, so the earlier you secure the date with a deposit, the more choice you have for menus, entertainment and transfers. Note that New Year's Eve bookings are usually non-refundable – ours cannot be cancelled once the deposit is paid.
2. Decide your group size and style
- Seated gala dinner: up to 57 guests on our yacht
- Cocktail party: up to 65 guests
- Intimate dinner: couples and small families get the whole yacht too
3. Choose the timing
The timing is completely flexible. Many groups board in the evening, enjoy dinner during the cruise and are in position in front of the Bosphorus Bridge before midnight for the fireworks show; others start earlier for a long gala dinner or later for a midnight party. If you have children or elderly guests, an earlier start works well.
4. Plan the menu and drinks
Our private chef can prepare any menu you wish – from Turkish meze and fresh seafood to international, vegetarian, vegan and children's options. Any alcoholic drinks can be provided on request, so choose your favourite champagne, wines and spirits – and do not forget champagne for midnight. Tell us about allergies and dietary needs in advance.
5. Music and entertainment
A DJ keeps the party going; a saxophonist, violinist or live band adds elegance during dinner. Show performers can be added for a classic Istanbul night.
6. Décor, photos and special moments
- New Year's Eve decoration, flowers and table styling
- A photographer, videographer or drone filming to capture the night
- A midnight surprise – a proposal, a toast or a personalised cake
7. Transfers and dress code
Traffic on New Year's Eve is heavy, so private transfers from your hotel are strongly recommended. There is no dress code on our yacht – wear what you feel comfortable in. The salon is heated, but bring a warm coat for the countdown on deck; late-December nights are usually around 5–10 °C.
8. Budget
